Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Patients

Legal authorities have stated that a ex- physician has been charged with performing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

Scope of the Investigation

The charges come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

List of Charges

The charging documents outline the forty-five charges he is charged with:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Authorities are urging anyone with concerns to get in touch with the investigating team.
