Fresh Particulars Come to Light About the Discovery of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Remains

Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the untimely deaths of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their Los Angeles home property on Sunday.

The Initial Report

As detailed in an account referencing a confidential source, a massage therapist arriving for an session initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the residence. The practitioner then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.

Upon entering the house, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had accompanied her contacted 911. Subsequently, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, as well as the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently detained and is ineligible for bail.

Clarifications

The confidential informant also disputed several previously reported details. They said that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.

Additionally disputed widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's conduct in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement applies to descriptions of alleged "erratic" conduct by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. While the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they asserted that claims of a "heated argument" between the two were inaccurate.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

According to law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some accounts noted the condition of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the residence. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
