Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.
It said missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
