A prominent South African media personality and entertainer has been fatally gunned down in the metropolis of Johannesburg, causing national outrage across a nation battling persistent crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was attacked in the downtown area on Tuesday afternoon.
Officials stated the forty-year-old media personality was approached by three individuals, one of whom opened fire on him before fleeing on foot.
The purpose of the incident is unknown and no one has been arrested are in custody, according to authorities.

Police said that Stock was targeted as he was exiting a location close to the Carlton Centre.
He had spent several hours at the property managing the setup of security systems, which had been illegally inhabited by unknown people, according to reports.
"Authorities believe the deceased was approached by three unknown suspects after he parked his car, and they opened fire at him before running from the location on foot," an official report confirmed.
Security camera video showed a suspect with dreadlocks and clad in what looked like a protective services outfit opening fire on Stock before running away.
The DJ sought to escape after he was wounded but fell down across the street.
It was further revealed that Stock had an gun that was not fired and no items were stolen during the attack.
